Emily and Lucy interview an accountant















1. What qualifications do you need to become an accountant? A degree in commerce.

2. Where do you have to go to get those qualifications?
University or polytechnic.

3. How long does it take to qualify to become an accountant? 3 Years.

4. What does an accountant have to do? Ensures that clients pay the right amount of tax per year and that they're paid at the right time.

5. How many days do you work per week? 5 Days.

6. Do you work part time or full time? 25-30 hours per week.

7. What is the busiest time of the year for accountants? 31 March, end of the financial year.

8. What do you enjoy about your job? Clients' wide variety.

9. What don’t you enjoy about your job? Deadlines.

10. How many hours do you work per day? 7 ½

  1. Emily and Lucy - what a great idea! Some of the answers were a bit short but they still said a lot and made me think about being an Accountant. I wonder who gets paid more, a teacher or an Accountatnt!
    Really liked the Interview, such a great idea and one I haven't seen before. Emily we'd also like to thank you for your comment on our class blog and yes the Girls were pleased to make the Semi-Finals of such a big competition.
