Is Rugby given to much importance in New Zealand?

I have great faith in knowing that rugby in New Zealand is not given to much attention or importance. Because rugby is not only what we play but who we are.

As Kiwis almost all of us have been brought up with rugby being part of our lives. The game can almost be like a celebration bringing everyone and anyone together.

Rugby could be called a type of culture for New Zealand. We fell in love with the game and haven't let go since.

So just like England have their soccer and America have their baseball, us Kiwis have the brilliant game of rugby.

Japan earthquake

Jerked around to a rubble mess
Attacked by water ten feet tall
Panic spreads across the land
A power that can’t be controlled
Never will this country be the same

Earthquake Disaster

I was at school when the earthquake struck.I was sitting at my desk when suddenly everything started shaking.I went straight under my desk. I was very worried.
I felt sick and dizzy so I went outside. I am glad that my dad wasn’t in one of the buildings that fell down because he works for EQC. Also my mum works in a glass house.

Christchurch Earthquake

Buildings crumble to the ground in a tangled mess
Loud fire sirens pierce the dusty air
Distraught faces cry to be freed from the rubble
The heart of Christchurch lies broken, ruined and lifeless
Our iconic buildings struggle to stay intact
Many are left homeless, many have no food, and many are left to wander the streets
Our city may be ruined, and so many lives lost
But the true generosity of people who helped many others
Will help everyone to rebuild Christchurch

In the earthquake

There was a big earthquake on Tuesday 22 February. We were working on our inquiry and the big earthquake was at school. People were crying and when the earthquake hit we had to get under our desks. Christhurch was very good in town.

22nd February

A deep rumble filled the land

as the earth woke

from his restless sleep.

Moving to a comfortable position,

not realizing the damage

it has caused.

Seas of tears fall

from the Cantabrians,

as they stare

at their ruined city.
