Personification

Team Electrify have done some amazing poetry using personification. We will be publishing these and putting them on the blog when they are finished. We started with an object (e.g. pencil) and then gave it some human like qualities.
Annabelle sent me a challenge: to guess what two objects she used for her poems.

He grows in the sun and shelters me in rain.
I climb through his tangle of arms while he protects me.
He sways to the breeze rocking me to sleep and moans to be free in storms.
He sees me protecting me in every type of weather.
What am I?

She listens to what I do and is never faulty.
She says, "use me, use me. No one else."
She runs across the ground as though she is being chased.
She sees the world I imagine and puts it in words for me.
What am I?

What do you think she is writing about

  1. Annabelle, I think your first object sounds like a tree - what a beautiful description. I'm interested that you decided the tree was a 'he'.

I cannot think what the object of your second description is, but I think it is cleverly written and I especially love your line 'She sees the world I imagine and puts it in words for me'.

  3. Those were awesome poems Annabelle! I think the first one is a tree and the second one is a pen or pencil. I think that this is a great example of personification! I really like the line that said "He sways to the breeze rocking me to sleep and moans to be free in storms"
