Koru Games

For three days, most of the year 7 and 8 seniors of Springston school went the Koru games. It is a new thing that opened up last year and gives kids a chance to do sport that they probably can't do at school. The choices were rugby 7s, touch, table tennis, lawn bowls, netball, swimming, and many more. There is a opening and closing ceremony. The opening ceremony is where they tell you about the games and the closing ceremony is when they give out the medals.

The whole thing went from Tuesday to Thursday. I did touch and my team did really well.

On Tuesday we only had one game because the other game had a bye. Each game went for 30 minutes. We lost by miles at our first game.

On Wednesday we had 4 games so it was a long day. We lost our first game, won our second and lost our third but won our last game of the day.

On the last day the touch team had 2 games and we won by miles with the first game but our last game we drew with Prebbleton. It was 3 all. Zayden nearly got a try but the guy in the other team 'touched him'.

The Koru Games are a lot of fun and is a great thing to do because you get three days with no school.
