Myspace Fun Flash CommentsFor Maths Room 7 investigated what a typical Year7/8 looks like. At the time we were learning statistics so each group turned their data into a graph. Next we shared what we found out to the rest of the class and then compared our data with other schools, by looking at their infomation that they posted last year online.

Gender: Female 70% Male 30%
Hair colour: Blonde or Brown
Eye colour: Blue or Hazel
Shoe size: 7
Have Email address: 80%
Belong to a Social network: 48%
Have Cell phones: 58%
Have MP3/Ipod: 72%
I am really interested to see that 'only' 58% of the students have cell phones - I thought it would be more. But then, as many as 80% have their own email address. Why do you think so few might have cell phones, in comparison to mp3 players/ipods?
