West Coast Rally

The Westland rally is held on the West Coast of the South Island. The West Coast is a cool landscape with native trees and animals. There are wekas and kiwis plus trees like ferns and kowhai. The rally stages run throughout the West Coast native bush.

The first car to start the stage is the zero car who warns the marshals the rest of the rally cars are on there way. The first car to go through the stage is Matt Summerfield, followed by Rhys Gardiner, Richard Bateman and then Richie Baddock. The cars revive their engines waiting for their start time.

Dad and I head off to the jumps where the cars can go 200 kms and get some air. We then decide to go to a corner where we can watch the cars come down the hill and slide around the corner. It looked cool but it would be scary because there was a culvert on the other side of the road. However only one car got close. It was an Evo and it only just got past the corner with my dad pointing the way to go. Another car who came too fast was a Toyota Corolla and did a hand brake turn. Luckily it made the corner! I had a great day, with lots of fun. Scott's dad was also there. The thing I liked the most was seeing all the cars.
