The
Year 7s had been looking forward to the Tekapo Camp and it definitely didn’t
disappoint.
We
headed down on Wednesday 20 August and were greeted by lovely sunny weather. We didn’t
have long to get comfortable in our cabins, on the edge of Lake Tekapo, before
we had to walk down to the ice rink. We enjoyed the challenge of ice skating
and some of us came away with some bruises.
The
next day we were able to go skiing / snowboarding up at Roundhill. We started
with our lessons and then later in the day we could go up the T-bar. After a
day at the ski field there was nothing better than going to the hot pools for a
soak that night.
Our
final day consisted of mountain biking in the morning and then snow tubing in
the afternoon.
We
returned home sore and tired but satisfied with our camp.
