On Thursday afternoon we had a choice to do board games, knitting, art or computer science and we chose board games. The game we played was King Of Tokyo and it was really fun. The aim of the game is to kill everyone or get 20 star points.
Welcome everybody! We are a group of Year 7/8 students at Springston School who are connecting to our learning and meeting new challenges. Our teachers are Wendy and Mr T.

100 word challenge
Today I was walking along the beach when... wait sorry I'm George by the way.... back to the story, when BOOM a dragon swooped down and...and... and blew a magic spell on me then flew away. WAIT don't stop reading now please! OMG then I started to shrink and so did everyone around me! Now I'm only two inches tall and wearing a tiny purple ninja suit I'm actually kind of cute. OH MY GOLLY I'm small my old foot print in the sand is like four times the size of me now. It's kind of cool to be really small.
Ellesmere Roadshow
Ellesmere Roadshow!
A few weeks ago Sonic had some students from Ellesmere College come into our class and they showed us all their cool experiences, some performances from their KapaHaka group, and some of their very talented students singing, playing the drums, guitar, piano, etc.
They had a slideshow playing in the background, the slideshow was of their camp photos and trips.
Their head students came and ask us if we had any questions about the school because they both had been their since year 7 so they knew just about everything there is to know about Ellesmere College.
Two of their main speakers did a science experiment with some materials and it looked amazing, it's a bit hard to explain but it made a loud noise.

Spooky Scary Dolls
Spooky Scary Dolls
Once upon a time in 1901 there was a small shop in London that made dolls. There was this one day a little girl walked up to a window to find lots of names written in chalk. So she had a little look around and found a piece of chalk. There was a big blank area so she wrote her initials on it.
She finished writing her initials and she heard this faint squeaky noise from behind her. She turned around to find a doll displayed in a shop window. She had a closer look and realized the doll looked exactly like her. Blonde hair, pink coat, purple gloves and even green eyes. The doll had every single detail that made her look exactly like the girl.
She tried opening the shop door but it was locked, so she threw a snowball at it and started to walk away. A couple seconds later the door creaked open and she turned at the sound of the door.
As she entered the shop, she spied the doll now sitting on the table. As she moved forward, she stood on a mechanical doll on a bike that was lying on the ground. The doll started to move and next minute whizzed towards the door trying to make his escape. Suddenly the door slammed.
When she turned back from watching the biker banging unsuccessfully against the door, the doll had moved again. It was now on the shelf, high up. She really wanted to hold the doll that was so like her. She climbed up, stretching out her hand ………. as she touched the doll’s nose she found herself inside the doll only able to move her eyes
As she looked down from the shelf, another doll rose up to be on display in the shop window.

The Footprint
The Footprint
“Georgia!” Someone is calling my name. My eyes go blurry and then I start to focus on a white board. It is art class and I must have been day dreaming. There is homework on my desk. My strict art teacher lets me off with a warning for sleeping in class.
The bell rings for home time and there are parents crowding the courts waiting to pick up their kids. I grab my bike and start to bike home. I open the front door and no one’s home. I write a note to say that I have gone to the beach.
It is a lovely day outside. When I get to the beach I decide to draw in the sand about what inspires me. I am really happy with what I draw. People are crowding around my piece of art. I look at my watch, 3:47 pm, time to go back home or else Mum will be worried.
Going home is like an adventure. Ding, dong goes the doorbell to let Mum know I am home. I open the front door and tell Mum all about school and the big footprint I drew at the beach. Everything I said made her smile up until I said that I got a warning from my art teacher for sleeping in class.
